Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. We also use similar browser technologies such as localStorage. Together we call these "cookies" in this policy. We use them only as described below — Discentik does not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

On your first visit we ask for your consent before using any non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the service cannot run without them; all other categories stay off until you opt in. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:

• Use the Cookie settings link (also in the footer) to re-open the consent panel.
• Toggle analytics from your profile's privacy settings.
• Clear or block cookies in your browser settings.

Rejecting is as easy as accepting. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or using parts of the platform.

Required for the service to function and exempt from consent. These cannot be switched off.

• Authentication session — keeps you securely signed in (stored in your browser by our authentication provider, Supabase). Cleared when you sign out.
• Course editor drafts — temporarily holds unsaved course-builder data so a page reload doesn't lose your work (localStorage, auto-expires after ~6 hours).
• Consent record — remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again on every visit.

Remember choices that improve your experience, such as which guided tours and prompts you have already dismissed and interface settings. Used only with your consent.

These help us understand how Discentik is used so we can improve it. Used only with your consent; you can also opt out from your profile at any time. Course completion status is still recorded so you can resume where you left off.

• First-party learning analytics — per-stage metrics such as time spent, attempts, and your exercise responses, stored in our own systems (Supabase).
• PostHog (product analytics) — a third-party processor that helps us measure feature usage and real-user page performance (Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, and Cumulative Layout Shift). Performance measurements do not include page text or element details. PostHog sets its own cookies and is loadedonly after you consent to analytics. We use PostHog's EU hosting; session recording is disabled by default.

Discentik does not load advertising, social-media, or cross-site tracking cookies. The only third-party cookies are PostHog product-analytics cookies, set strictly after you opt in to analytics (see above). If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, that sign-in is handled by the respective provider under their own privacy and cookie policies.
