## Your account

### Who can use Discentik?

Anyone aged 16 or over who lives in Ireland, Spain, the United States or Australia.
Creating an account is free.

### How do I create an account?

Select **Get started**, choose your country and date of birth, then continue with
Google, Microsoft or your email. If you use email, type the 8-digit code we send you.

### I didn't get the confirmation code

Check your spam or junk folder, then select **Resend code** on the same screen. Keep

### I forgot my password

On the sign-in page, select **Forgot password?** and follow the link we email you.

### How do I change my password, language or other settings?

Open your avatar in the top-right corner and select **Profile**. Change your password
in **Security** and the interface language in **Account**.

### How do I delete my account?

Open **Profile → Account** and scroll to **Danger zone**.

## Finding and buying courses

### How do I find a course?

Select **Explore** in the top bar. You can search by keyword and filter by topic.
You don't need an account to browse.

### Are there free courses?

Yes. Free courses show **Free** on their card. Open the course and select
**Enrol for free**. See [Buy or enrol in a course](/help/learners/buy-a-course).

### How do I buy a course?

Open the course, select **Buy now**, check the price in **Review your purchase** and
select **Continue to secure checkout**. You pay on Stripe's secure page and the course
appears in **My Learning** straight after. See [Buy or enrol in a course](/help/learners/buy-a-course).

### Can I use a discount code?

Yes. Type it in the **Coupon code** box in **Review your purchase** and select **Apply**.
Only one discount applies per purchase.

### Where are my courses?

Select **My Learning** in the top bar. Every course you enrolled in or bought is there.

### How do I continue where I left off?

Open the course from **My Learning**. Your progress and work are saved automatically.
On a computer, **Resume** in the top bar reopens the course you started most recently.

### Can I learn on my phone?

Yes. Discentik works in your phone's browser. There is nothing to install.

### How long do I keep access to a course?

You keep access while the course stays available and your account stays active.
Finishing a course does not end your access.

### How do I get a certificate?

Complete every required part of an eligible course. Then select **View certificate**
in the course summary, or open **Certificates** in **My Learning**.

### Where is my receipt?

Open **Profile → Purchase history** and select **Download receipt (PDF)**.

### Can I get a refund?

Yes. You can ask for a refund on an individual course within 30 days of buying it.
Use the [refund request form](/contact?topic=refund) and include your order reference.

## AI balance (credits)

### What is AI balance?

AI balance (some people call it credits) pays for the AI features in your courses,
such as AI conversations and feedback on your work. Paid courses usually include
some. Reading lessons and writing on your own never use it.

### How do I buy more AI balance?

Open **Profile → AI usage**, choose a package or enter an amount from €5 to €100, and
pay on Stripe. See [Buy more AI balance](/help/pricing/buy-more-ai-balance).

### What happens if I run out?

You can keep reading and doing activities that don't use AI. To keep using AI
features, buy more AI balance.

## Teaching on Discentik

### How do I become an instructor?

Select **Instructor** in the top bar, then turn on the Instructor workspace. You need
to be 18 or over. See [Start teaching on Discentik](/help/instructors/start-teaching).

### How do I create a course?

In the Instructor workspace, open **My Courses**, select **Create course** and give it
a name. See [Start teaching on Discentik](/help/instructors/start-teaching).

### How do I publish my course?

Open **Publishing** in your course and select **Submit public update**. Our team
reviews it before learners can see it. See [Publish your saved course changes](/help/instructors/submit-saved-course-changes).

### How do I get paid?

Open **Instructor → Earnings → Payout account** and select **Set up payout account**.

### How do I create an organisation account?

Select **Get started**, choose **Organisation**, and register with your work email.
After confirming your email, accept the Organisation Terms and select

### Can I buy courses for my team?

Yes. From your organisation account, open **Explore**, pick a paid course and select

### How do I add people to my organisation?

Open **Organisation → Team** and invite each person by email.

Common questions

When public personal registration is enabled, eligible people aged **16 or over** in
Ireland, Spain, the United States and Australia can register without an invitation.
Under the invitation-only staged policy, a current personal invitation is required.

1. Select **Create an account** to open the signup form directly.
2. Choose your actual **Country of residence** and enter your **Date of birth**. Your
   date of birth is kept private and is never shown on your profile. This is separate
   from optional tracking consent.
3. Continue with Google or Microsoft, or enter your name, email and password and
   select **Create account**. Continuing means you agree to the Terms and acknowledge
   the Privacy Policy.
4. If you used email, enter the code we email you and select **Verify email**.
   Keep the signup tab open; refreshing it restores the code-entry step.
5. Discentik records your eligibility and takes you to your workspace.

Your signup details remain in this tab for up to one hour while you confirm by email.
After you sign in, Discentik saves them privately to your account before continuing;
you do not need to enter them again on later sign-ins. If saving fails, select
**Try again** to retry with the same details. Signing in to a different account clears them.

If you use another device, sign in with your email and password to enter the
confirmation code there. If eligibility has not yet been saved and this tab has no
signup details, you are asked for your **Date of birth** and **Country of residence**
under **Finish setting up your account**. This also applies after the temporary
signup details expire or are cleared. When access is approved, select
**Continue to my workspace**.

If your country is not supported yet, you cannot create an account for now. If your declaration
needs review, follow the support instructions on the eligibility page. Declaring an
age under 16 on an existing account restricts learning access; privacy rights and
support remain available. Do not change your country or birth date to bypass a restriction.

You can review eligibility from **Profile > Account**. Corrections that would relax
protections need review. Your date of birth is not part of your public profile.

Registration creates a personal account. Organisation access follows a separate
onboarding process. Purchases and paid AI top-ups require separate commercial approval
and the applicable account, market, tax and provider checks. Creating an
account does not grant access to every course or unlimited AI: each feature depends
on the permissions and balance available to your account.

## I didn't get the confirmation code

After you create an account with your email, we send you an 8-digit code.

1. Wait a minute, then check your spam or junk folder.
2. Still nothing? Select **Resend code** under the code boxes.
3. Type the newest code you received. Older codes stop working.

Keep the sign-up tab open while you wait. If you closed it, sign in with your email
and password and we'll ask for the code again.

## The code says it's invalid or expired

Codes expire after a while, and only the newest one works. Select **Resend code** and
use the new code.

## I forgot my password

1. On the sign-in page, select **Forgot password?**
2. Enter your email and select **Send recovery link**.
3. Open the email and follow the link.
4. Choose a new password under **Set a new password**.

Tip: you can also select **Email me a magic link** on the sign-in page to sign in
without your password.

## I signed up with Google or Microsoft

Use the same button again to sign in. You don't need a Discentik password for these
accounts.

## It says to confirm my email first

You created the account but haven't entered the confirmation code yet. Sign in and
we'll show the code step, or select the option to resend it.

## I'm asked for my country and date of birth

We need these once to check that Discentik is available to you. If you've already
given them, you'll see a message saying you're all set, and you can select **Continue to my workspace**.

Trouble signing in

Discentik provides interactive courses that help you practise using AI in real
work. A course can combine explanations, guided exercises, AI conversations,
evaluations, and document-writing activities.

## Create your account

Select **Create account**, choose your country of residence, and register a personal
account when public registration is enabled. Eligible people aged **16 or over** in
Ireland, Spain, the United States and Australia can use this route. Confirm your
email, then enter your date of birth and residence on the eligibility page.
Select **Continue to my workspace**
once access is approved. Public registration does not require a personal invitation.
Under the invitation-only staged policy, a current personal invitation is required,
including for existing accounts.

Discentik is not available in other countries yet. Existing accounts also need current eligibility;
organisation invitations do not bypass these checks. Organisation onboarding remains
separate from public personal-account registration.

You can browse course descriptions without signing in. Purchases, paid AI top-ups
and seller payments require separate commercial approval and the applicable account,
market, tax and provider checks. Registration alone does not enable them. Learning,
AI and authoring each depend on the permissions available to your account. Creating
an account does not grant unlimited AI use. People under 18 cannot author courses
or manage organisations; optional tracking remains off.

## Early-access notices and feedback

Before accepting an early-access invitation, you see a notice explaining that bugs,
unfinished features and interruptions are possible. Read it and select
**I understand, continue** to accept your invitation. Reopening an invitation you
have already accepted does not ask you to acknowledge the notice again.

After you sign in, a compact early-access banner stays visible on pages with the
main Discentik navigation while the platform is in pre-release. Visitors browsing
without signing in do not see this banner. Use **Report an issue** or
**Share feedback** to open the relevant contact form in a new tab and keep your
work open. The banner goes away when early access ends.

## Action feedback

Short confirmations and action errors appear as dismissible pop-up notifications
(toasts), including when secure checkout cannot start. Read the message before
retrying. Field corrections and information you need to continue, such as access
restrictions or a page that could not load, remain beside the relevant form or page.
These pop-ups are separate from the saved messages in your notification area.
Eligibility requirements appear in registration, invitations or an access check
when relevant; opening a page does not repeat an eligibility warning.

## Your welcome notification

When you create an account, a **Welcome to Discentik** message appears in your
notification area. Open the bell in your workspace to read it, then select the
message to visit the Help Centre. It is sent once for a new account; signing in
again does not send another welcome.

## Choose what you want to do

- **Learn:** Personal accounts continue enrolled courses from **My Learning**. Organisation
  accounts see only courses assigned by their organisation.
- **Create courses:** Personal accounts use the Instructor workspace. Organisation Content
  Authors use **Organisation** > **Courses**, where courses belong to the organisation.
- **Manage a team:** Use the organisation workspace to invite members, organise access,
  and review your team's learning.

The workspaces available to you depend on your account and organisation access.
Personal and Organisation activity are separate: an Organisation-linked account does not have
personal Instructor access or a personal course library. Read

for details.

## Start learning

When public course discovery is available, the homepage shows up to three
published courses in the website's selected language. This selection uses learner
ratings, enrolments and recent updates; it is not a personalised recommendation.
If no matching courses are selected yet, you can open the learning walkthrough
instead. **Browse courses** opens the full catalogue, where you can change filters.

The walkthrough is followed by separate Canvas and Deep research examples, then an
overview of learning support and links to the Instructor and Organisations workspaces.
The research preview shows a prepared draft with the tool selected; it does not submit a request.
Read [Research a question with AI](/help/learners/research-with-ai) to learn how to
use the tool in an enabled Chat activity.

Open **Explore** to browse courses. Select a course to review its description and
learning outcomes. After you enrol, open **My Learning** whenever you want to continue.

## Create a course

If you use a personal account with Instructor access, open the Instructor workspace
and select **My Courses**. If you are an organisation Content Author, open
**Organisation** > **Courses** instead. You can create a course, organise its stages,
preview it, and prepare it for publication from the relevant course workspace.

## Find an answer

Opening the **Help Centre** starts with this Getting Started guide. Use **Search
documentation** above the left navigation and describe what you are trying to do.
Every available topic and guide is shown in the navigation by default.
Use the chevron beside a topic when you want to collapse or reopen its guide list.

## Find your way around public pages

Choose **About** in the public navigation, or in the navigation menu on mobile,
to read Discentik's mission, follow its story from September 2025 to early access,
meet its creator and project collaborators, or start a conversation about investment
and strategic partnerships.
The About page presents Discentik's story in a centred timeline. Below the
creator and collaborator profiles, a **Follow Discentik** card links to the
company's LinkedIn page. The LinkedIn icon beneath the footer logo
also opens Discentik's company page. These links open in a new tab.

The public Learners, Instructors, Organisations, Teams and Education pages use
step-by-step product walkthroughs. Select a numbered step or scroll through the
story to change the prepared example. These demonstrations use fictional courses
and people; they do not change account or course data.

The footer groups links under **Learn**, **Teach & organisations**, and **Help & company**.
Under **Help & company**, choose [Investment & partnerships](/contact?topic=investment)
to open the investment enquiry form.
Use it to browse courses, see **How It Works**, find instructor and organisation
information, or **Verify certificate**. Privacy, terms and cookie choices are in the
bottom row, alongside **Language**. Your learning and management workspaces keep a
compact footer with help, support and legal links.

Get started with Discentik

Each workspace keeps a different kind of work and permission boundary in view.

On the homepage, product guide and organisation pages, **My workspace** takes you
back to your account's default workspace.
When you are signed in on these shared pages, the avatar beside **My workspace**
opens your **Profile**, **Manage workspaces**, and **Sign out** actions. On smaller
screens, the same actions appear directly in the navigation menu.
Your session stays available when you browse the homepage, product guide, prices,
organisation pages, and Help Centre. After a brief connection interruption, return
to the tab or reconnect to let the app check your session again. Use the account
menu inside your workspace to sign out.
That compact action signs out only the browser or device you are using. To review
or close other sessions, open **Profile > Security > Active sessions**.

## Access to your workspace

When public personal registration is enabled, eligible people aged 16 and over in
Ireland, Spain, the United States and Australia can register without a personal beta
invitation. Under the invitation-only staged policy, a current personal invitation is
also required, including for existing accounts. Confirm your email and complete the
private age and residence check before entering your workspace. Account suspension,
organisation membership and feature permissions still apply. Discentik is not yet
available in other countries. Purchases require separate commercial approval and the
applicable account, market, tax and provider checks.
The age-eligibility reminder lives in **Profile > Account**, rather than above every page.

- **Learning** is where you browse public courses and continue your own learning.
- **Instructor** is for personal course creation, preview, and review preparation.
- **Organisation** is for organisation courses, members, groups, assignments, and reporting.
- **Discentik Admin** is restricted to platform-wide review and operational work.

When your account has multiple available workspaces, use the workspace label in the
top navigation to open a chooser. The current workspace is marked in the list. On
desktop, you can also hover over the label with a mouse to open the menu. On mobile,
tap the workspace label inside the navigation menu.

Desktop navigation dropdowns, including the workspace, account, notifications, and language menus, open when you hover over their controls. Moving to another dropdown closes the previous one immediately. Move the pointer away from the control and menu to close them. You can also use click or keyboard activation; press Escape to close a menu.

If you have a personal learner account and have not enabled Instructor, the top
navigation shows **Instructor** instead of a redundant Learning label. Select it to
open **Profile > Workspaces**, where you can review and enable the personal Instructor
workspace. After activation, Learning and Instructor appear in the workspace chooser.
An account with only one available workspace and no eligible setup action does not show
a workspace control. Platform staff still see a non-interactive **Discentik Admin**
reference in the navigation so the administrative context remains clear.

Select **Manage workspaces** from your account menu to open **Profile > Workspaces**.

access. If you open a workspace URL without the required role or capability, the

Organisation-linked activity is separate from personal activity. Switching workspace

The desktop **Resume** shortcut is available on Learning routes and opens the
eligible in-progress course you started most recently. You can have several courses
in progress; visiting an older one does not change this start-date ordering. Hover

Long titles wrap there without widening the button. Resume does not appear while you

Choose and switch workspaces

Practice activities in a course are graded by AI against the requirements the course
author wrote for that activity. This page explains what is graded, how the result is
decided, and what Discentik does to make the same work receive the same grade.

## What gets graded

Each activity grades one thing, chosen by the course author:

- **Your prompt**: the instructions you gave the AI. A good answer from the AI does
  not count if your prompt did not ask for it.
- **The AI response**: the answer you produced with AI, read together with your prompt.
- **Your document**: in a Canvas activity, the current document. Your chat messages
  are not part of the grade.

The grader only sees that submission. Actions it cannot see, such as copying, pasting
or how many times you revised, are never graded.

## A checklist, not an impression

Every activity has a short checklist of requirements, such as "Both dates included".
You see the same labels in your feedback. The grader marks each requirement:

- **Met**: your work fully does it.
- **Partly met**: you attempted it, but it is incomplete or unclear.
- **Missing**: your work does not address it yet.

For every requirement it marks as met, the grader must quote the exact words from your
work that show it. Discentik then checks that the quote really appears in your
submission. A requirement whose quote cannot be found is not counted as met.

## How the result is decided

The result is calculated from the checklist, not chosen by the AI:

- **Passed** when every requirement is met.
- Your **score** counts each met requirement fully and each partly met requirement as
  half. For example, 2 met and 1 partly met out of 4 gives 63.
- **Almost there** means you did not pass yet but scored 50 or more. **Needs work**
  means a score below 50.

Some requirements can be checked exactly, for example that two dates are stated. These
are checked by fixed rules, and a rule result always takes priority over the AI.

## Making grades consistent

AI can word the same judgement differently from one run to the next, so Discentik
grades in a way that keeps results stable:

- Grading always uses the same AI model with its most predictable settings and a
  strict answer format. Discentik checks how consistently a model grades before it is
  used, and changes the model only deliberately.
- If any requirement looks borderline (partly met, or met without a quote that can be
  found in your work), the work is graded twice more with the checklist in a different
  order, and each requirement takes the majority result. Ties go to the stricter result.
- Course authors see which requirements were judged differently across runs when they
  test a course, so unclear requirements can be reworded.

Grading is consistent, not perfect. Rewording your work can change a borderline
requirement, and the AI can still misread something. If you think a result is wrong,
you can ask a person to review it.

## Reading your feedback

Your feedback opens in **Your review**, which names the attempt it belongs to. When
an activity is not passed yet and the review is closed, its button shows how many
requirements you met, for example **3 of 4 met**. The note at the bottom of the review
is a reminder that AI checked your work against the course checklist.

When an activity is not passed yet, the feedback starts with **Your next step**: the
single change that will help most. Below it, **What to fix** lists each requirement
that is missing or partly met, with the words from your work the grader looked at and
a suggestion to try. Select **Show what you did well** to see the requirements you
already meet.

When you pass, the feedback shows **What worked** and, sometimes, optional ideas under
**Make it even stronger**. You can reopen it with **View feedback**.

**Attempt history** shows the score of each attempt, so you can see your progress.

## What is stored

Discentik stores the result of each attempt: pass or fail, the score and which
requirements were met. The quotes and suggestions in your feedback are stored with
the same rules as the rest of your attempt text. If your organisation does not keep
attempt text, your organisation's reports show results without quotes from your work.

## For course authors

Requirements that are specific and observable grade most consistently:

- Write one requirement per line, in the learner's terms, for example "Subject line
  requested" rather than "The learner writes well".
- Use **How the grader checks this** to say exactly what must appear.
- Keep to about 3 to 6 requirements per activity.
- Do not grade actions the grader cannot see, such as copying or revising.

The course editor shows a hint next to any requirement that is vague, checks more than
one thing or describes an invisible action. Use **Test** with a strong and a weak
answer before publishing.

How Discentik grades your work

reports help us understand what happened and what you need.

## Open the right form

After signing in, choose **Report an issue** or **Share feedback** in the early-access banner. The
contact page opens in a new tab so your current work stays open. The form's prompts
and email subject match your choice.

## Describe the problem or suggestion

For a problem, explain what you were trying to do, the steps you took, what you
expected and what happened instead. Include the error text if there was one. If
helpful, name the page or course and your browser or device.

For feedback, describe what you would like to improve and how it would help you.

Discentik does not automatically attach your current page address, account details
or screenshots to this message. Add only the information you choose to share. Do
not include passwords, verification codes or private information about other people.

## Send to support

1. Enter your name, reply email and message (up to 5,000 characters).
2. Complete the security check when shown.
3. Select **Send message** and wait for the result on the page.

The confirmation means our email provider accepted your message for delivery to
support; it is not a support response or a guarantee it has reached the inbox.
We reply to the address you entered within one to two working days. No automatic
confirmation email is sent.

If sending fails, your text stays in the form. Retry without changing the message
when delivery is uncertain. If a message limit is reached, wait before retrying.
