Understand Business account boundaries

Learn how organisation learning and course authoring stay separate from personal accounts.

Updated 22 August 2026

A Business account is dedicated to one organisation. Its learning, course authoring,
and permissions are kept separate from personal learning and personal Instructor
activity.

Learning with a Business account

My Learning shows only courses assigned to you by your organisation. Personal
course purchases and personal library entries are not shown in a Business account.

You can still open Explore to review available courses. If you are a learner,
select Request from organisation to ask for an assignment. If your role includes
access to the Business workspace, select Open in Business to continue with the
organisation course workflow.

Creating courses for an organisation

Business accounts do not have a personal Instructor workspace. An organisation Admin
can grant Content Author access to a member who needs to create courses. Content
Authors open Business, then Courses, and every course they create is owned by
the organisation rather than the individual author.

Content Author is independent from Learning Manager access. A Content Author
can create and manage organisation courses without receiving permission to assign
courses or review team learning.

Course visibility and review controls remain part of the Business publishing
workflow. Publishing an organisation course never converts it into a personal course.

For the full User, Group Admin, Admin, Learning Manager, and Content Author model,
read Manage team access.

Keep personal activity in a personal account

Use a separate personal account if you want to buy courses for yourself or publish
courses under a personal teaching profile. When a personal account creates or joins
an organisation, it becomes a Business account and personal Instructor access and
personal learning records are no longer available from that account. Existing
personal records are preserved, but remain hidden while the account is linked to the
organisation.

If you need access to an existing organisation, ask its Admin to invite the account
you intend to use for Business learning.
