Paste text into course content

Click a text section in the visual course editor, then paste your text. The editor
uses the clipboard's plain-text version, keeping words and line breaks rather than
the fonts, colours, images, links, or styles from the source document.

Markdown symbols and HTML tags pasted as text stay literal text. Use the editor
toolbar when you want to apply formatting intentionally. Visible web addresses may
still become clickable in the rendered preview.

If you selected text, the pasted text replaces that selection. You can undo the
paste normally. Pasting an image or content without a plain-text version does not
replace your selection; copy its text instead.

Existing saved Markdown outside the pasted selection is not converted to plain
text. The visual editor supports headings, quotes, lists, inline code, bold,
italic, and strikethrough. Edit links, tables, Setext headings, or raw HTML in Code
view because round-trip editing of those formats in the visual editor is not
guaranteed.

This applies to text sections in the visual course content editor, not the JSON
editor or the learner's document canvas. Save your changes and preview the course
before submitting an update for review.
